![]() ![]() It doesn't make a difference what anyone else tells you. I figured that, no matter what you do, your fate is not in your hands. I thought a lot about Dragon Keepers and dragons. She dusted them off with her fingers and handed a few to me. She reached in and dug out a few wooden plates with a victorious smile. She smiled, then dropped her gaze to the inside of the crate. "About all this?" I replied, waving my hands vaguely in the air. "About what?" she asked, lifting the corner of a box with the tip of her knife. As I hefted and moved a rather large box, I started to speak with Garnet. Silvia sent us into the cave to find wooden plates and bowls in the cave with all the boxes of used various items of past Dragon Keepers. Garnet and I forgave our dragons, and we sat on the boulder as we waited for Silvertongue to bring fresh deer from the Meat Cave. If he invaded even that, I would become insane. Though he was my dragon, my mind was the only place I could really reason to myself and learn and wonder things. I realized that I was speaking my thoughts to him. Prepare yourself for anything! I was sure that this was hardly a fair argument, but then again, I supposed that enemies wouldn't announce their coming. Silvia stopped moving and conversed silently with Garnet. ![]() Silvertongue watched, and then I forced my way into his mind, though he let me in. Silvia lowered her head like I had seen Yulan do and wrapped a paw around her ear (or where it should be). Then, Garnet stood rigid, and the flames receded before they licked at my clothes. So this is how it ends, I thought bitterly as I watched the tongues of fire roil out of her jaws. She snarled and bared her fangs, taking a deep breath to roast us in flames. my dragon, Silvia appeared from the pit around the mountain-like stone around us. Then, as I thrust my sword toward the dragon. Silvertongue was a dragon! I was just a girl, and I didn't even have water to control, for the closest pool was deep in the recesses of the cave, in our room. Troubles that had struck fear in me before were now miniscule in comparison to this fight. Suddenly, everything I had ever done was erased. Welcome to training, he sneered, and lunged right at me. She noiselessly slipped her blade from its sheath. Garnet peeled herself from the stone and joined me with a light jump. The green dragon alighted on the stone outcropping. I leapt up before Silvertongue could do it again, and turned, unsheathing my sword at the same time. ![]() Shocked, I quickly rolled and pushed myself up, only to be flattened again by another wing beat. ![]()
